Aegean Airlines, member of Star Alliance, is the largest Greek airline. It offers a full service of good quality on board of scheduled and charter flights since its creation in 1999 up to today.
In 2013 AEGEAN took over the company Olympic Air; thanks to this takeover, the passengers can now enjoy many flights and extra connections and they have a better access to the Greek islands, included the remote ones.
Thanks to the Athens International Airport hub, there are many possibilities of connections to cities in border countries such as the Balkans, Turkey or cities of the Middle East.
The destinations served by AEGEAN in 2016 includes a network of 145 destinations, 111 international services to 45 different countries and 34 national connections on the Greek territory with a total offer of 16.200.000 available seats , namely, 1,1 million seats more than in 2015.
In June 2015, AEGEAN won the « Skytrax World Airline award, distinguishing the Best Regional European airline. It’s the sixth time that AEGEAN wins this award, the first was in 2009, and then 2011 (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 et en 2015) without interruption.
On the routes departing from Lille Airport, Aegean Airlines uses Airbus A320 planes.
